Elementary integral series for Heun functions: Application to black-hole perturbation theory

نویسندگان

چکیده

Heun differential equations are the most general second order Fuchsian with four regular singularities. An explicit integral series representation of functions involving only elementary integrands has hitherto been unknown and noted as an important open problem in a recent review. We provide such representations solutions all class: general, confluent, bi-confluent, doubly triconfluent. All illustrated concrete examples use, Python implementations available for download. demonstrate utility by providing first solution to Teukolsky radial equation governing metric perturbations rotating black holes that is convergent everywhere from hole horizon up spatial infinity.

Organizational Black Hole Theory

There are issues in organizations that require new theoretical formulation. Hence, metaphorical theorizing is used in the study of organizations to interpret them and understand their complexities. In this method, the organization is likened to an entity and one of the key features of that entity is generalized to the organization. It should be borne in mind that most organizational theories ar...

Applying black hole perturbation theory to numerically generated spacetimes.

Nonspherical perturbation theory has been necessary to understand the meaning of radiation in spacetimes generated through fully nonlinear numerical relativity. Recently, perturbation techniques have been found to be successful for the time evolution of initial data found by nonlinear methods. Anticipating that such an approach will prove useful in a variety of problems, we give here both the p...

Black Hole Collisions: How Far Can Perturbation Theory Go?

The computation of gravitational radiation generated by the coalescence of inspiralling binary black holes is nowdays one of the main goals of numerical relativity. Perturbation theory has emerged as an ubiquitous tool for all those dynamical evolutions where the two black holes start close enough to each other, to be treated as single distorted black hole (close limit approximation), providing...

Atom made from charged elementary black hole

It is believed that there may have been a large number of black holes formed in the very early universe. These would have quantised masses. A charged “elementary black hole” (with the minimum possible mass) can capture electrons, protons and other charged particles to form a “black hole atom”. We find the spectrum of such an object with a view to laboratory and astronomical observation of them,...

Path Integral for Half-binding Potentials as Quantum Mechanical Analog for Black Hole Partition Functions

The semi-classical approximation to black hole partition functions is not welldefined, because the classical action is unbounded and the first variation of the uncorrected action does not vanish for all variations preserving the boundary conditions. Both problems can be solved by adding a Hamilton-Jacobi counterterm. I show that the same problem and solution arises in quantum mechanics for half...
